Today is the first day of spring, and we’re naming our five favourite spring sounds to celebrate and to complement our other favourite seasonal sounds, like our top five sounds of autumn.

If you haven’t heard the beautiful sounds of nature due to a hearing loss then we encourage you to book a free hearing test. Hear spring again.

  1. Birds singing
The ‘dawn chorus’ of birds singing, their songs are often louder and livelier this time of year. This is mostly due to male birds attempting to attract mates and warn other males away from their territory.

  2. A tinkling stream
The calming sound of water flowing along the streams is a sound not to be missed.

  3. Wind rustling in the trees
A gentle spring breeze gently blowing through the woods, leaves and branches of trees can be calming and can give you a chance to reflect on nature.

  4. April showers
The sound of rain against the window pane, especially when you’re cosy inside, is one of our favourite sounds.

  5. Bees buzzing
Taking a moment to listen the bees going from flower to flower, collecting their pollen and nectar, in a garden or meadow, is one of life’s simple pleasures.

If someone you know is missing out on the above, there are ways you can help someone with hearing loss. Maybe your Mum hasn't heard these sounds of spring for a while because she has a hearing loss? Nominate her now so she could be in with a chance of receiving a pair of top-of-the-range hearing aids for completely free this Mother’s Day.
