A special moment for me that stands out is when I tested a lady who lived on the second floor of an apartment building.

She’d never been tested. And once I’d tested her and given her the hearing aids, she asked her daughter to switch off the microwave, or the radio, because she could hear a ‘singing’ sound. And it was actually the birds singing outside of the window. She’d not heard these birds for all the time she’d been in the apartment.

You do get moments like that, they happen all the time.

That’s one of the best parts of the job. Every day is different and you just get better and better because of the training. You continue to grow and continue to help people.

A couple of months ago we decided to form a running group at Hidden Hearing. It’s a really nice opportunity for us to get together, do something different and completely get your mind out of work.

Caption reads: Meet Emilia – Accountant in Audika Group

My name’s Emilia Sage, I’m 26 years old and I’m an Assistant Management Accountant at Hidden Hearing. Emilia is sitting in Hidden Hearing’s Support Centre offices as she’s talking to us.
I’m proud to work with so many intelligent and lovely people, but I’m also really proud to work for an organisation that has such an important purpose, so helping more people hear better. Emilia is walking to work. She is walking past a Hidden Hearing hearing centre.

She is walking up the stairs to her office.

When I left university, I graduated, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do as a career and one evening I met up with my friends – one of them mentioned there was a job at Hidden Hearing in Customer Services. I applied for the job in Customer Services and managed to get it. Emilia is walking through her office.
I spent about a year in Customer Services and then I started working on a project – on a secondment – and when that project finished after about six months, my manager saw that I had potential so he offered me the opportunity to do a development programme which involved spending six months in a variety of departments, so IT, HR, Marketing and also Finance. I realised at the end of it that Finance was the department I wanted to be in. I’m now in Finance and I’m studying to be a chartered accountant.   Emilia is sitting at her desk, typing on her keyboard.

Emilia is picking up the telephone and starts smiling and talking.

I think the best thing about my work is the fact that I get to interact with so many different people in the company, whether it’s dispensers, branch coordinators, departments like IT and Marketing, or directors. It really keeps me in touch with what’s going on in the business, and I love working with different people and having that sort of cooperation with them.
I’m also a finance buddy for two of our sales areas. So I have interaction with two of our area managers and support them with anything they need, whether it’s reports or analysis – I’m their contact in Support Centre.
Emilia is sitting in her office as she’s talking to us.

Emilia is in a meeting room, talking with two colleagues.

In 2018, at our conference, I was given an award, and that was because I had done a really good job on my development programme and I’d been noticed by a lot of the managers who thought I was really proactive. Close up of Emilia’s award trophy on her desk – Emilia is typing in the background.
I’d taken a lot of their role on so that they could have more time, by doing some of their tasks.
Compared to the companies my friends work for, it seems like we have a lot more opportunities and a lot more support from management here.

So I’d recommend that people join Hidden Hearing because you get to be part of a company that has a really important purpose of helping more people hear better.

Emilia is sitting in a meeting room. She is demonstrating how to use a card machine to two colleagues.
And also if you do join the company, then there are plenty of opportunities to develop and to grow, and if you work hard, you will be rewarded for it and you will be noticed. Emilia is running in the park with her running group.
